Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard closes its gates for another year...

We came, we saw, we killed the crowd!

Well, that went well didn't it??

For the sixth year in a row, Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard took over Hyde Park, showcasing spectacular performances from some of the biggest stars in the world. From P!nk to JAY-Z to LCD Soundsystem and 2manydjs, it was a jam packed weekend that managed to go down as one of the best in Wireless history.

Thanks to everyone that came down and helped create such a memorable weekend. See you in 2011!

JAY-Z brings Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard to a close!

The jigga man rocks Hyde Park!

What can we say, Jay Z wrapped up the final night at Wireless with a spectacular set. With a countdown to his entrance and the biggest crowd of the weekend, we were only waiting for one thing, the Jigga man himself.

With a star studded audience, including Beyonce, Mark Ronson and Gwyneth Paltrow (who decided to join us at the sound desk), we knew that this was going to be one to remember. Emerging onto the stage to a deafening roar from the crowd, and a sea of diamonds in the air, Jay was in no mood for messing around. Run This Town - his hit from last year, and On To The Next One created early highlight, as Jay breezed through his back catalogue - U Don't Know, Song Cry and I Know all featured.

“Greetings” he shouted, as the anthemic 99 Problems filled Hyde Park - witnessing fifty thousand people singing along was truly a sight to behold..

Then a surprise - as he asked the Wireless crowd to “jump like you're trying to reach the sky”, the mass audience all jumped up and down in sync to a remix of Punjabi MC's Knight Rider mashed up with his own R.O.C. You Don't Stop.

I Just Wanna Love You was next on the agenda, and the crowd went crazy! As everyone put their “diamonds in the air”, the backdrop changed to the Manhattan skyline and guess what came next? Yes, you guessed it, Empire State of Mind, a truly, spine tingling, iconic moment that truly cemented his set as bona fide classic..

Asking the crowd to make some noise, he was joined onstage by none other than J Cole for a rendition of A Star Is Born. With the crowd going nuts, a surprise blast of Jackson 5's I Want You Back followed, with it quickly merging into Izzo (H.O.V.A).

With the sun now setting on the final day at Wireless, darkness was upon us and the spectacular lightshow came into full effect. The crowd were treated to yet more hits - D.O.A , Show Me What You Got.

“Throw your shirt in the air and let's start a carnival” he shouted, and with this 60,000 Wireless fans, including the main man himself took off their jackets, shirts and tops and swung them in the air.

As the night drew nearer to the end, Jay Z was joined by Mr Hudson, who belted out Young Forever, a genuine highlight of the set, and one which the crowd went mental over. Then as quickly as he had arrived, he hobbled off stage with his crutches.

Ending the set and thanking London saying that “we were far too kind”, what else was there to do other than to say goodbye to a very special performance and a very fitting end to a magical weekend in Hyde Park
P!nk brings her Funhouse show to Hyde Park

A breathtaking set from the rock-pop princess brings the opening night of Wireless 2010 to a spectacular close

A massive box hovers 50 feet in the air, and a huge cannon is aimed up from the stage pointing ominously at it. It fires a cloud of smoke, and P!nk 'flys' down from it screaming 'London!', and goes straight in to Get The Party Started. What an entrance!

Yes, P!nk's circus has arrived in town, and it’s come complete with a Wurlitzer, slides, a circus promenade and all the bells and whistles we've been promised in the build up to this headline performance.

P!nk then goes in to Funhouse, then a lively Ave Mary A. It's an ecstatic start to the set.

Scantily clad in a figure-hugging micro dress and a cheeky red garter, P!nk looks incredible, and sounds even better. Her live band effortlessly churn out hit after hit, as dancers dressed in all sorts of costumes from oriental circus performers to goth rockers parade around the stage.

"Holy s**t, there's a lot of people here tonight" she says, before saying "thank you" at least 20 times. "This is a dream - we're the first bitches to ever headline Hyde Park!" You certainly won't be the last...

Who Knew is a true rock anthem, and is greeted with a raucous cheer. Bad Influence comes with all the polish and shine that we’ll come to expect tonight. For Just Like A Pill, P!nk lays on the Wurlitzer, then springs up, hopping across the stage. Not a single person doesn't sing along on the chorus.

For the more sombre Please Don't Leave Me, P!nk slowly walks across the stage with mic in hand, embracing her guitar player. Then she makes her way down to the crowd and is virtually mobbed by a sea of hands.

"You guys smell better than I do," she admits, obviously having no problem getting up close and personal with the Wireless mob. If you say so, P!nk!

Tonight's show really does sounds as good as it looks, and it's incredible to hear P!nk’s catalogue of rock-pop anthems blasted out with a full live band, which comes full with a cornucopia of face-melting guitar solos on heavier numbers like I'm Not Dead and Unwind.

Throughout the set, P!nk loses more and more of the costume, and damn, she is looking good. When we spoke to her in London back in December she said that she had enjoyed going running in this very park, and clearly her vigorous exercise regime is doing the trick.

Eva and Dan from the band join P!nk for an acoustic rendition of I Dont Believe You, where the rock-pop princess also wields an acoustic guitar of her own. It's raw, stripped back and full of emotion.

"My favourite thing to do at a festival is cry," she tells us, and this is one moment that gets us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. A beautiful contrast to the chaotic goings on of the rest of the show so far.

The acoustic interlude continues with a campfire sing-along rendition of Dear Mr President, a piercing number that features P!nk's backing singers in perfect three-part harmony. It's blissful.

After this, it's back to business as usual, and P!nk welcomes on her life-long "songwriting buddy" Butch Walker on to stage, who some of you would have seen playing a set of his own over on the Third Stage earlier on in the day.

The two rock out to Mean, as a video of two kids playing football is shown in the background. Awww...

Then it's time for a medley between the two, which includes The Who’s My Generation and Green Day's Basket Case, as well as a killer version of Sting and the Police's Roxanne.

One of the highlights of the set is when P!nk jumps in to a huge inflatable dome and surfs the crowd from one side of the Arena to the other. It's incredible!

"Wow, I have so much more respect for hamsters now" she says when she finally makes her way back on to stage.

"Let’s have a singalong," says P!nk, as the band break in to their next cover, 4 Non Blondes' What's Going On. She plucks a nervous looking girl called Natasha out of the crowd to sing it, and she goes from a shaking wreck into full blown diva, absolutely nailing the chorus! Nice one Natasha!

Then it's time for another singalong, but this one is a P!nk track in the form of You And Your Hand. This is followed by a rousing rendition of Leave Me Alone, which slowly winds down, and one by one P!nk’s band leave the stage.

But it’s not over just yet...

For an encore, the stage comes alive with colour and lights, and P!nk explodes back in front of the Wireless crowd for a stonking rendition of So What, straps herself into a harness and flys across the Arena. There's pyros, smoke and fire, all of which do exactly what they’re intended for – sending the crowd absolutely insane.

It's the perfect end to one of the most theatrical shows London Town has ever seen. P!nk was spectacular tonight, in every sense of the world. Tonight’s performance will stay with us. For a long time.

Sunday at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard!

We bring you some of Sunday's highlights...

The usual festival rule is that the music starts, and gradually the audience builds up over the day – opening a stage is sometimes a daunting task. This isn’t a problem though for Fugative, who seems to have an army of fans who’ve turned up for his 2pm set.

Fully living up to his role as the next teen sensation, we’d never seen such a busy tent so early. Supalova was an early crowd pleaser, but it was Crush, his last single, that created the biggest highlight, as the whole of the Pepsi Max stage sang along.

The sun was out and the crowd were ready and waiting for the one and only Mr Hudson. Stumbling on stage with crutches, the hitmaker explained that he had hurt his foot, but this didn’t stop the well-dressed artist from performing an outstanding set.

“London make some f**king noise” shouted Mr Hudson, as he belted out Fade Away to a crowd that were ready to party.

White Lines, was a genuine hit with the Hyde Park crowd, then as quickly as the set began, we were already at the final song and what better way to end than with his hit single Supanova..

As soon as Mr. Hudson finished his set, it seemed like the whole of Hyde Park was heading towards the Pepsi Max Stage to see J.Cole. As he started his performance, it was clear to see why the tent was jam-packed with his fans. One thing's for certain, he certainly knows how to entertain a crowd.

Arms swaying, the crowd screamed for Lights Out and soon the ultra cool American was rapping tunes likes there’s no tomorrow. As the tent heated up, he took off his denim jacket and got down and dirty with the crowd.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Cole brought out his entourage and the whole place erupted into one mass of waving arms. After thanking Jay-Z for giving him this opportunity, he belted out his final song Mama Told Me.

He may only be 19, but Chipmunk’s stage presence belied his age

As he ran onto the Main Stage he opened with Who Are You. With the crowd split into two, Chipmunk asked the Wireless crowd to “make some noise” and with that, the crowd screamed, filling Hyde Park with nothing but noise.

Cool as ever, Chipmunk then treated his fans to hit single Diamond Rings with the crowd going absolutely mental in the London sunshine!

Hits followed - Oopsy Daisy, Chip Diddy Chip and Until You Were Gone creating a perfect set for the barmy English afternoon.

As one of the biggest new UK rappers on the scene, a lot was expected from Stephen Manderson, aka Professor Green.

Thankfully, the set far exceeded all expectations. Comfortably letting his rhymes roll off the tongue, the Prof had the masses eating out of the palm of his hand, toying with his often humourous lyrics and sporting that familiar cheeky grin.

One of the highlights was the track recorded with our Main Stage darling Lily Allen, Just Be Good To Green which showcased a different side of the hip-hop aficionado, the inspired sampling of the The SOS Band's Just Be Good To Me lending a melodic backdrop to his rapping.

Closing the set with his INXS sampling hit, Need You Tonight, he got the crowd roaring one final time for what was a magnificent showcase of his mammoth talent.

As far as rock'n'roll icons go, you can't get any more authentic than Slash, who completely owned the main stage armed with nothing but his trusty guitar.

Accompanying Slash's awesome guitar-led spectacle was the singer Myles Kennedy, who very helpfully summed up the set for us: 'It's a rock 'n' f*cking roll show right now!. As a tribute to other rock greats, the band wore shirts with Thin Lizzy and Ramones logos, showing solidarity between the old school greats.

It was Slash's classic rendition of Sweet Child O' Mine that drew the biggest reaction from the crowd. A true sing-a-long anthem, every man, woman and child knew the words and happily chanted them back.

And just when we thought we'd had our fill of Guns 'n' Roses, out pops the ubiquitous Paradise City as the closing number. As the guitar got a proper work out once again you got the sense that everyone felt they were part of something truly special tonight and enjoyed being in the presence of true rock greatness.

Wow. That’s all we can say about Wiley and Roll Deep’s set. The tent was heaving and the Wireless crowd had no choice other than to spill right out of the sides.

The crowd went absolutely crazy for hWiley's massive hit Wearing my Rolex and all we can say is we wish you’d have been here to experience just how amazing the atmosphere was.

The crowd went mad as Roll Deep ran onto the stage playing a whole host of songs, including hits Shake a Leg and The Avenue.

The atmosphere in the tent was electric - they demanded that the crowd jump up and down, and what more could the crowd do other than to follow the demand! Shouting “if I say roll, you say deep” the crowd went nuts for the UK crew.

Throwing towels into the crowd, the packed out tent clearly didn’t want cooling down. For the fans, it was all about the music. Stating “it’s all about the UK scene”, they then performed their hit When I’m ‘Ere. Shirts off, the boys were clearly getting hot, but the sound coming from the tent was simply amazing.

Amazing atmosphere. Two wicked acts. Fantastic sound. What more can we say?

If we thought The Pepsi Max Stage tent was heaving for Roll Deep and Wiley, we hadn’t seen anything – Tinie Tempah was on another level.

Donned in a hoodie, smoke machines at the ready, and joined by his band, the Plumstead-based rapper entertained the crowd with a mixture of heavy basslines, heavy rhymes and even heavier beats. Wifey and Tears were early highlights, whilst recent single Frisky brought the house down.

A bootleg of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face brought a bit of mainstream to the Pepsi Max, with the whole tent singing along.

Finally, Tinie asked “London are you ready to pass out?” and the crowd went absolutely crazy. A bonafide UK urban classic, Pass Out was a fitting end to a spectacular set.

Saturday at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard...

We bring you some of the highlights of Wireless Saturday!

‘We came, we saw, we killed the crowd’ was Example’s motto today – and he certainly killed the Wireless crowd.

He may have been on quite early in the day, but the balmy summers day proved itself to be perfect for Example’s brand of dance infused hip hop.

Backed by a DJ, guitarist and keyboardist who were obviously enjoying themselves, Watch The Sun Come Up summed up the mood of the crowd perfectly, a summery mish mash of beats and canny hooks. With filthy basslines, and some cheeky on stage banter we watched the crowd grow and grow throughout the set. Last One Standing provided another highlight, but it was Won’t Go Quietly that got the crowd going mental ‘bounce to this’ he screamed, ‘whether you’re in a wheelchair or you’ve got a gammy leg, I don’t give a f*ck!’

Current hit Kickstarts began with a self confident declaration to the crowd ‘for anyone that hasn’t been to a festival before, this is what you call a f*cking anthem!’, but it was closing track Hooligans that really sealed the deal, and confirmed his status as one of the brightest stars of 2010. Complete with dubstep breakdown and the claim that ‘whilst I don’t condone violence, if there’s a little bit of bloodshed, I’ll be happy!’. We came, we saw, we killed indeed!

Hot on his heels, The Big Pink took to the stage offering something special and different from the rest of the acts today. As one of the only guitar led bands, their set meandered between breathy and ethereal songs backed by a heavy bass line and hard electro-rock numbers, such as the stomper Tonight.

As the crowds basked in the sun, front man Robi Furze sunglasses came off - he meant business. Dominos, the band’s best known song, whipped the masses into a sing-along frenzy with some of the girls falling over in excitement, just as the lyrics demand.

Ah, Missy Elliott. Only the biggest superstars can keep the audience waiting, feature an impromptu performance by your new protégé and incorporate an outfit change halfway through – and fortunately Missy is a superstar through and through.

Feeling like a greatest hits set, Missy whizzed through all of her biggest numbers – from The Rain through to Sock It 2 Me, One Minute Man to Gossip Folks. Get Ur Freak On provided the first real standout moment, with the whole crowd chanting along. A brief appearance from new Missy protégé Sharaya followed – a diversion for Missy’s costume change from black to white tracksuit! Work It followed – the second highlight of the evening. Then a quick blast of Lose Control and as quickly as she came, she was gone….

Following Missy was always gonna be a tall order. But the massive bassline could only mean one thing – Tha Doggfather himself, Snoop Dogg was in the house! With an adoring fanbase in presence (we saw SO many Snoop tshirts), the main man himself cruised through his biggest hits, reminding everybody why he’s one of the biggest hip hop stars in the world.

Beautiful was dedicated to the ‘ladies’ in the audience, whilst Sensual Seduction sounded just as glorious live as it does on record. A dedication to the late hip hop legend Tupac Shakur was well received by the crowd, whilst a cover of House Of Pain’s Jump Around provided the first genuine surprise of the set.

Closing with the iconic What’s My Name to an almost deafining roar from the crowd, Mr. D.O.G.G certainly showed the pretenders to his throne that he’s not quite past it yet….

Friday at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard...

We bring you some of the highlights from Friday at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard

Are you ready for Daisy Dares You? Running straight onto the stage to a massive cheer, she's completely tiny, but totally owns the tent, bouncing around like a girl possessed. Grabbing a guitar for the second track Sup, the tent has gone from being half full to pretty damn packed out. Her backing band is only four strong in numbers, but easily make enough noise to fill the tent. There are random bleeps and synth swirls, whilst tight vocal harmonies come from her very able drummer who bangs the skins in perfect time. After an instrumental jam, where she grabs her axe and launches herself around the stage in a way that would impress even Angus Young, Daisy bursts in to Who Will Buy – her slightly deranged version of the song from Oliver. It's a delightful synergy of punk, rock and pop, and the band rock out in style. Number One Enemy ' is her final song, and induces a mass sing-along from the crowd in the now jam-packed tent. There isn't a single hand that's not in the air. It's a delicious fusion of rock, pop and feel-good summer vibes, and ends with an almighty cheer from the audience, and a shriek from the girl herself. Nice one Daisy - you killed it tonight.

Beginning their set at Wireless with a sun-drenched version of the chart-tastic Song Away' indie rockers Hockey managed to get the whole audience eating from the palm of their hands right from the off. With a warm synth pad holding together the luscious mix of cheeky basslines and growling vocals, Hockey kept the crowd gripped, with an early highlight being crowd favourite Just Too Late a tune that contains their trademark indie sound with some dirty bass thrown in for good measure. Closing their set with The Beginning, the track started off with a ground-shaking bass drum beat, a plinky-plunky piano riff and a heavy bassline. The crowd went nuts, before Hockey broke in to the chorus, their most feel-good moment of the afternoon. Following the chaotic and crazy delights of Daisy Dares You before them, Hockey did a great job of getting everyone's hips a-swaying, putting the Wireless crowds in a perfect laid-back balmy mood for this hot July evening. Ready for something totally different? Good, because next up, it's Plan B...

You could hear the thousands of people waiting for Plan B all across London Town on Friday afternoon at Wireless. Following a turn from beatbox supreme FaithSFX, the cheering from the crowd suddenly amplified 100-fold when Plan B and his band took to the stage. Focusing on the smooth soul of his recent long player, The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, Writing on the Wall, gave the edgy London boy his first chance to really show off a killer set of pipes. Even more awe inspiring, every single person in the tent chants the lyrics back to Plan B when he breaks in to She Said. Even on the rap - impressive!!! He's a converted soul man these days, but he shows true diversity in his set, whether it's the Motown inspired grooves of his band, the grime-fuelled bite of his rapping, or the fusion of dance and rock in Won’t Go Quietly. The band are tight as you like, and the sound that comes from these 10 players is incredible. Not one to call ‘predictable’, a cover of Kiss From A Rose turns into an inspred choice, with his version featuring more soul than Seal - somehow. This goes into a kind of drum n bass fuelled freestyle rap, complete with high-pitched warped synths and dark stabs from a tenor sax. Suddenly a blast of Forgot About Dre - where did that come from!? Its raucous. Its exciting. It's one of the highlights of the set. For the final song, it has to be Stay Too Long, a song which manages to sound even better live than on record. Maybe the thousands of voices in the crowd singing along has something to do with it. Plan B returned to Wireless this year promising to deliver something special, and he did not disappoint. Three years after his debut in Hyde Park, the boy done good tonight. Just ask anyone of the 8 thousand people who were there.

One of the biggest hopes for this year are the amazing I Blame Coco. Daughter of rock star Sting, I Blame Coco’s infamous singer, the very gorgeous Ms Coco Sumner has a lot to live up to. Thankfully she delivered. Walking onto the stage in a typically unassuming fashion, it soon became apparent that as well as his singing style, she’d very much inherited her father’s talent.

Her seemingly awkward stage presence complimented her singing – heart-on-her-sleeve, emotional vocals, backed by a punky soundtrack, with a style reminiscent of a bygone era of music when lyrics mattered as much as a catchy tune. The latter, of course, never goes amiss, and the crowd’s shout outs for Caesar were met with a spirited performance of her recent duet with that other left-of-centre pop star, Robyn. The very introspective Self Machine was another favourite, clearly cementing Coco’s place amongst the thinking man’s pop idols. As she mellowed out with a guitar in her hand, any doubt that anyone may have had about this young woman being a ferociously independent talent was instantly dismissed.

Performing on the main stage in front of the whole of Hyde Park can be a scary prospect. Thankfully it was one that obviously didn’t daunt Beth Ditto or her Gossip cohorts. Storming the stage in their typically flamboyant style, they did the unthinkable – opening with their biggest hit Standing In The Way Of Control, belting out the spirited anti-establishment lyrics like only Beth can. Wearing a bizarre conicle shaped top, she was every inch the style as well as music icon we have grown to love, with attitude aplenty and a voice to match.

It wasn’t all about Beth though - as a unit, Gossip are an incredibly well oiled live machine, and as well as some amazing music, we were also treated to the occasional side-splitting joke: “Sometimes I think I’m Rosie O’Donnell” stated Beth. “Sometimes other people do too”. The punk rock of Four Letter World’s created a genuine highlight of the evening, whilst a mid-tempo, hearty rendition of Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got To Do With It provided an inspired choice to keep the crowds guessing and winding down one of the best live sets we’ve ever seen.

Following up Gossip on the main stage was always going to be a tall order. Thankfully it was one that Katie and Jules aka The Ting Tings were more than up to. Single We Walk was an early highlight – all angular guitar, and Katie’s shouty vocal reverberating around Hyde Park. With newly bleached blonde hair, Jules played his part as well, with some on point backing vocals pointing to some undiscovered vocal talents. As the set went on, it became apparent that The Ting Tings were there to do one thing – party. Let’s make you fucking dance! Katie shouted as they launched into a spirited version of Great DJ. Fruit Machine was accompanied by some crazy shapes courtesy of Katie, whilst new track Working Too Hard sounded like a hit in the making, with a rather memorable performance involving a group of dancers and rather bizarrely, placards. Shut Up & Let Me Go provided another highlight (although we secretly hoped that Estelle was going to come on and redo their BRITS performance from 2009), but it was That’s Not My Name that sealed the deal – a 24 carat pop classic that managed to get the whole of Hyde Park jumping up and down in the air.

The Ting Tings – we salute you!

We talk to Chase & Status

The production duo hang out with Wireless...

Chase and Status have had a pretty eventful twelve months - from writing and producing with Rihanna, to landing their very own top ten single in the form of End Credits their collaboration with Plan B. We caught up with the duo as they were about to head on stage.

You've had an amazing year so far, what do you think has been the highlight so far?

Too many to mention. Great festival billings, great tour, collaborating with Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah, new track coming out with Mr.Hudson - so many things. Highlights all to do with the music we're making

You've not played yet - what can the audience expect?

Itís a shortened set, only 50 minutes, itís gonna be 50 minutes of intense carnage. Thereíll be some brand new tracks, new single Let You Go, classic track, drum & bass, dubstep, the whole shebang, us doing it live, it's gonna be exciting.

Youíve already collaborated with some of the artists on the line up - if you could pick anybody else over the three days, who would you choose? Friendly Fires, we're actually talking to them now. JAY-Z - we remixed Death Of Autotune, but weíd love to do something original. If I had the line up, I could probably pick loads of people out, it's a really strong line up over all three days.

What have you got planned for the rest of the summer? Festivals, festivals, festivals. DJing DJing DJing, and topping up the studio tan as we finish the album

We say hello to Chiddy Bang!

We meet the US duo...

For anyone that hasn't heard of Chiddy Bang, can you introduce yourselves and tell us what you're about

We go by the name Chiddy Bang, I'm a rapper and I've got a producer called Xaphoon Jones who makes my beats. We just chill and have a good time. Itís like hip hop electronic with pop influences.

You've already played the third stage earlier today, how was that?

The set was amazing. The best show we've ever played without question. Wale just jumped onto the stage halfway through the set and was jamming with us, kids were chanting our names. There were people spilling out of the tent, it was amazing. Best one ever.

If you could collaborate with one other artist on the line up this weekend, who would you choose and why?

Probably HOVA and Chase & Status at the same time. I know that's cheating but we reckon that would be amazing.

What have you got planned for the rest of the summer?

The album. August 24th. It's gonna be crazy. Tell your mum, tell your dad, tell your pet dog....

Tinie Tempah says hi!

We chat to the UK rapper...

Tinie Tempah has had a storming 2010, with one of the biggest hits of the year in the form of Pass Out. We had a quick chat with him before he went on stage…

You’ve had an amazing 2010 - what’s been your highlight of the year?

I would say Glastonbury, playing the Pyramid Stage with Snoop Dogg. That was absolutely crazy.

You’re just about to head onstage. What can the crowd expect?

We’re going to make it epic. I’m in my home city now, London city, and we’re gonna make it epic. We’ve finished the album now, so we’re gonna do some new songs and bring the house down, or the tent or whatever.

If you could perform with one other person on the line up today, who would you choose?

Probably Jay-z. as he’s one of the people I really look up to and really respect, and one of the reasons why I’m doing what I’m doing now.

Laura Steel drops in for a quick chat!

The bubbly Northerner catches up with us before her Wireless set!

Sheffield lass Laura Steel has been compared to everyone from P!nk to Lady Gaga, not bad going for the newcomer, who's only just gearing up to release her debut single Feedback. We had a quick chat with her before she takes to the Wireless stage...

For those that haven't discovered you yet, can you sum yourself up in five words?

Bonkers, Funny, Honest, Sexual & Northern!

You're just about to go on stage - what can we expect from your set?

Lots of energy, catchy electro-pop songs with fat bass lines and squiggly diddly guitars! A bit of Northern banter and a whole lotta fun.

Who are you looking forward to seeing on the bill?

I can't wait to see Jay-Z as I've never seen him before. Slash! Woop woop what a God! Friendly Fires as well, and my mate Joy is the drummer with Mr Hudson so can't wait to see her! She's amazing!

If you could perform with one other act on the Wireless line up, who would you choose and why?

P!nk - I really look to her for inspiration. She's a top class performer and I can only hope to be on stage with her one day!

Tell us your naughtiest festival story!

To be honest my naughty stories are way too naughty so I'll tell you the silliest thing I did. I thought I was dead cool and wore flip flops to a festival once, it obviously rained like hell and I spent the whole time wading through the mud bare foot. What a div!

Finally, what have you got planned for the rest of the summer?

My first single Feedback comes out in August so I'm going to be spending the rest of the summer doing gigs and loads of cool little acoustic sessions for radio. Wireless is certainly my highlight of the summer though - I can't wait to ROCK out, I know we are on the smaller stage but I'm going to be giving like I'm on the big one - Wireless are you ready for me??

Check out the the brand new video for Laura's single Feedback here.

A chat with Fugative...

We say hello to the teen heart-throb

Pitched somewhere midway between Chipmunk and Justin Bieber, UK teen heart throb Fugative is already one of the big success stories of 2010. With a devoted fanbase and a growing profile, the teenager has already scored his debut chart hit with Crush. We had a catch up with him backstage....

For the few people that haven't heard of you yet, can you sum up Fugative in five words?

Fresh, young, artist, producer and writer!

You're going to be opening the Pepsi Max stage today - no pressure at all! What can we expect from your set?

All I can say is be ready for lots of energy - I'm gonna get the crowd going nuts!

Have you been to Wireless before?
Nope, it's my first time and it's so sick that it's in my home town! I can't wait!

If you could perform with one other act on the Wireless line up who would you choose and why?

JAY-Z for sure! He's one of my favourite artists, I look up to him. Me and him on the stage would be crazy!

Tell us your naughtiest festival story.

Well, this is my first ever proper festival, so I guess I'll have to tell you after Wireless haha!

What have you got planned for the rest of the Summer?

I've got my new single Bad Girl coming out on July 25th, and another single in September followed by an album so it's mental at the minute. If I'm not on the road, I'm on stage, and if I'm not on the stage, I'm in the studio!

Check out the video to Bad Girl here.

LCD Soundsystem and 2manydjs close Wireless Saturday

Dance legends end another fantastic day in Hyde Park.

Many a dance act have graced the main stage at Wireless – from Daft Punk to Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal to Massive Attack. But we can safely say that this year, 2manydjs more than showed that they were up there with the best.

The suave duo aka Soulwax, may hide behind a pair of decks. But what they did at Hyde Park this year was legendary. Accompanied by a video installation with images following the myriad of tracks, the set was loud, proud and utterly amazing. The breadth of songs featured was breathtaking – who else could feature Bowie and Queen alongside Sidney Samson and Justice in the same set.

With a crowd more than willing to party, the whole of Hyde Park soon descended into a big open air rave. Their remix of Gossip’s Standing in The Way Of Control had the whole of the park singing along whilst MGMT’s Kids, their take on Walter Murphy’s Fifth Of Beethoven, and Human Resource’s Dominator created massive highlights. With crowd pleasure after crowd pleasure, Queen’s I Want To Ride My Bicycle accompanied by a naked cyclist on stage added a welcome touch of humour. But it was Love Will Never Tear Us Apart accompanied by a sea of confetti over Hyde Park that really drove us over the edge – with the whole audience, completely euphoric, and having the time of their lives. Amazing.

Closing Wireless Saturday was always going to be a tall order. Thankfully LCD Soundsystem were more than up for the job.

Clad in a dapper white suit, James Murphy dived straight into Us Vs Them before, ever the gentleman, giving a shout out to his on-stage predecessors, complementing each one on their performance.

Recent single Drunk Girls followed, with the crowd singing along, and James belting out the song as if his life depended on it. The synth led Get Innocuous followed, with Murphy taking to the drums and beating out the rhythmic percussion of the track.

Pow Wow came and went, but the anthemic Daft Punk Is Playing AT My House became the first massive highlight of the set.

The biggest cheer of the night came as soon as the intro to All Your Friends was projected into the crowds.

It was the show’s closing track that provided the biggest surprise of the night though, LCD’s very own version of JAY-Z’s Empire State Of Mind. A brilliant way of passing over the headliner baton, and an ideal way to end the night.

Indie rock duo and NME Award winners The Big Pink have had an amazing 2010 with a critically acclaimed album in the form of A Brief History of Love, which came out through the cult 4AD label. We caught up with the duo…

For those that haven’t discovered The Big Pink yet, can you introduce yourselves and tell us who you are?

We have no idea who we are! We have guitars and beats and drums, and we sing mostly love songs. We used to know who we are, but we’ve kinda got lost over the last twelve months! We still love doing it though! We’re just kinda transient individuals nowadays that don’t have a home, don’t know who our friends are, and definitely don’t know the way to the bank or the toilet. We’ve spent the last twelve months asking the way to the toilet – we can’t think for ourselves any more!

You’re performing a little later, what can people expect?

A really exciting, rocking set that’s gonna blow your mind! Haha. We do our best! We’re a rock and roll band. I’m looking at everyone else playing today, and I think we’re definitely going to be the most rock and roll band here. There aren’t too many guitars on the stage today, and we’re essentially a guitar band, so there’ll be lots of noise, lots of feedback.

If you could perform with anyone else on the line up, who would you choose?

Snoop. A lot of our music is pretty beat based, so there’s definitely room for a Snoop collabo. He is pretty diverse these days, he does the middle eight with Katy Perry, if he can do that, he can work with us. There are so many great acts today though, LCD Soundsystem, 2manydjs, Magnetic Man.

What have you got planned for the rest of the summer?

We’re just gonna hang out in London, chill with our friends. We’re gonna start making the second record, there are a few festivals, Reading, leeds that type of thing, then we go to Lollapolooza in the States. So we’re kinda busy.

We chat to Sub Focus...

The Drum & Bass supremo drops in for a natter...

Sub Focus is one of the biggest stars on the Drum & Bass scene, having worked worked with everyone from Example to I Blame Coco. We caught up with him for a quick chat after his set.

Hi – you’ve already been on stage. How did your set go?

It was great – I’m a bit tired to be honest. I played a set in Portugal last night, didn’t finish til three, and then got on a plane and came straight here. The crowd was great though so it was all good – we’ve got this crazy light show that we play with which is usually better at night time, but it worked well on that stage.

If you could perform with one other artist on the bill, who would it be??

Well, I already have - I did a song called Splash with I Blame Coco, and we did that at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Plus I’ve worked with Example, I produced his latest track Kickstarts. Other than those I’d love to work with LCD Sounsystem, I really love their stuff.

Finally, what have you got lined up for the rest of the Summer?

We’re taking our live show to some more festivals- we’re doing Reading and Leeds, Bestival, that type of thing. We really want to develop that – we’ve got a thing where we can control synths with movement, so that’s really great. We’re just finishing up promoting our last album Sub Focus, so we’re gonna start working on the next album, hopefully do some remixes as well.

We say hello to Kids On Bridges!

Electro pop duo hang out with Wireless!

You may not have heard of Kids On Bridges yet, but that's all about to change. They've recently signed with trendy label Wall of Sound, and they're in the process of finishing up their debut album. We caught up with the chirpy Northerners before they hit the stage:

For anyone that hasn't heard of you guys yet, can you sum up Kids On Bridges in five words:

Dirty, filthy electo pop (sorry that's only four!)

What can the crowd expect from your imminent set?

Hopefully we can use some visuals and play some North West electro funk songs! We wanna make people dance, and set them up for the rest of the day!

Is this your first time at Wireless?

Yes, but we've heard so many good things about the festival! I can't wait to see LCD Soundsystem - and we've heard the massages backstage are amazing!

If you could perform with one other act on the Wireless line up, who would you choose?

2manydjs or LCD Soundsystem would be a dream

Tell us your naughtiest festival story.

It was at Benicassim in Valencia. It involved a Spanish girl and that time of the month - I'll leave that to your imagination! We also managed to sneak into Sonar's hospitality last month and got us some free Adidas gear!

What have you got planned for the rest of the Summer?

Playing all over the UK doing some more festivals, finishing off the album and hopefully doing a fuill UK tour before moving into the rest of Europe for more gigs!

Kids On Bridges album This Is Widescreen will be released later this year. The current single Y Don't U is available for free from their official site.

A quick natter with Example

We catch up with the 'Kickstarts' hitmaker

Example is very much the man of the moment with a recent top ten single (Kickstarts) and album (Won't Go Quietly) under his belt. We had a quick natter with him backstage before his spot on the Wireless main stage...

For anyone that's been living under a rock for the last year, can you describe Example as an 'artist' in five words?

'Kinda really hard to pigeonhole'

What are you hoping to bring to the Wireless stage with your performance?

Lots of energy, bouncing, hands in the air, anthemic choruses and ravey beats. Good times in the sun hopefully.

Tell us your favourite Wireless memory

It'll be my 4th time at Wireless and my 2nd time performing here. My favourite memory must be watching JAY-Z the first time he played, which was kinda just before he became a household name in the UK. I mean, he was massive of course, but it wasn't until Empire State Of Mind that people's nan's really knew who he was.

If you could perform with one other act on the Wireless line up, who would you choose and why?

I'm a big fan of The Big Pink, Sub Focus, and Magnetic Man - they're all on the same day as me. I'd have to say though, sharing a stage with JAY-Z would be a dream but its not somehting that I think would make much sense to me or anyone watching. Mr.Hudson can do that.

Tell us your naughtiest festival story.

Er, well I can't tell you that one. Or that one. I did once get so messy though that I ended up sleeping in the back of a hearse at Reading 2006.

What have you got planned for the rest of the Summer?

Lots and lots of festivals. Another single out in September. And a UK tour. Oh and Cider. Lots of that delicious stuff!

A thoroughly nice chap if we do say so ourselves. Check out the brilliant video for Kickstarts here or follow the man himself on Twitter.

Say hello to Diagram Of The Heart!

We talk to the enigmatic dance duo...

Diagram Of The Heart are one of the biggest new acts of 2010 - their music has already been used to soundbed a number of TV shows including Soccer AM, and they recently supported Scissor Sisters on tour. We grabbed hold of the guys before they went on stage, and asked them a few questions....

For our readers that haven't heard of you guys, can you describe your sound?

EUPHORIC EMOTIVE BIG ROOM POP

You're just about to go on stage - what can the crowd expect from your set?

It's gonna be a high energy, hands in the air set that'll leave everyone thinking they couldn't have been anywhere better for the last 30 minutes.

Have you got a favourite 'Wireless' memory?

Kye - I came to see Faithless and Daft Punk a few years back. I think the Daft Punk gig was one of the best ones I've ever been to. We're looking forward to seeing so many acts today as well - LCD Soundsystem, 2manydjs , UNKLE and of course Snoop!

Ant - This is my first time, and I really can't wait. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing UNKLE who are one of my favourite bands.

If you could perform with one other act on the Wireless line up, who would you choose and why?

There's so many. All the headline acts for sure. The Temper Trap, Friendly Fires, Sub Focus, Snoop - we'd love to work with so many of them.

Ant - I'd love to work with James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem and UNKLE. I love the records they both make.

Got any naughty festival stories?

Kye - I think a story everyone has is partying too hard and then finding yourself climbing into the wrong tent! I did that the other year at Glastonbury and I had no idea where I was when I woke up. Luckily the owner of the tent didn't make it back. Maybe they ended up in my tent?

Ant - One year at Glastonbury I forgot where I'd parked my car - I'd had a big night before. I ended up having to stay until practically everyone had left. I walked for miles I reckon.

Finally, what have you guys got planned for the rest of the Summer?

We've got a few more festivals, gigs and support slots lined up like Bestival, T in the Park and Ibiza Rocks on the 6th supporting Calvin Harris which we're really looking forward too. Also our single Dead Famous is released on the 11th of july which you can also pre-order on itunes now.

Check out the brilliant debut video from the guys Dead Famous here

We catch up with Lorenzo from The Temper Trap

We say hello to the the Australian rocker.

The Temper Trap have had an amazing couple of years – their track ‘Sweet Disposition’ has became a bona fide anthem, whilst album ‘Conditions’ has become a worldwide success. We caught up with band member Lorenzo Sillitto for a quick chat…

For anyone that’s been living under a rock and hasn’t heard of you guys, can you describe The Temper Trap in five words?

I would say: atmospheric, anthemic, alternative rock music.

And for anyone that hasn't seen you live before, what can they expect?

We just got a new backdrop, so you can expect an interesting light show, and just a lot of energy basically. We put a lot of energy into playing, trying to perform in front of a crowd and making sure everybody is having a good time.

Is there anyone else on the line up you’re looking forward to seeing?

I’m actually really looking forward to seeing Taylor Hawkins, he’s in Foo Fighters and he’s an awesome drummer. I can't wait to see P!nk as well, she does this amazing trapeze work, and it’s amazing to think she can perform and do all that acrobatic work as well.

If you could perform on stage with anyone in the world, who would you choose, and why?

Prince, because he is amazing. But he’d probably put us all to shame!

Finally, what have you guys got planned for the rest of the summer?

We’re playing Roskilde on Sunday, and Prince is actually playing. We’d love to meet him, but he’s a bit of a recluse, so we’ll see what happens! Then we’re going back to Australia to do some shows which is exciting, as we haven’t been home in a while. Then at the end of August, we’ve got some time off, so we’re gonna start writing and preparing for the next record.

I Blame Coco pops in for a natter...

We have a chat with rock royalty...

She may be the daughter of a certain rockstar called Sting, but Coco Sumner aka I Blame Coco has managed to furrow her own plough, with a critically acclaimed single, the sublime Caesar. We sat down in the sun with her and had a quick chat.

For anyone that hasn’t heard your music yet, how would you describe I Blame Coco’s sound?

The sound is dark pop I’d say. There are electronic dance elements in there. They’re all songs written from an organic place, on guitar and piano, but with more electronic production.

You’re on stage later this afternoon – what can the crowd expect?

We try to put on a good show, with lots of energy. Ridiculous and embarrassing dance moves. I think playing live, you’ve got to give people more than what they hear on Myspace or Radio or whatever. A big performance.

Have you been to Wireless before?

I have. It’s my second time here, but only my first time playing. I saw Plan B last time I was here, and Daft Punk – they were brilliant. Then I went on some rides. It’s all about the attractions!

If you could perform with one other artist on the line up over this weekend, who would you choose and why?

I think I’d choose Plan B. Me and Ben are quite close, yeah I’d love to work with him. We played Caesar together once actually, although we rehearsed for that one!

What have you got planned for the rest of the summer?

Festivals, lots of regional dates. And my birthday! I’ll be turning 20. No longer a teenager – I don’t know why they celebrate your 21st instead of your 20th. It seems much more important. The album will be released on October 4th – it’s gonna be a good day!

We hang out with Daisy Dares You!

We say hello to the petite pop princess!

Daisy Dares You aka 16 year old Daisy Coburn is one of the bright new hopes for 2010, and her debut single Number One Enemy has already been a top twenty smash. We caught up with the diminutive popstar backstage:

Hey Daisy – how’s your day going so far?

I’ve been in the car for seven hours, we had a bit of a late show last night so I’m kinda tired. I just wanna get on stage at the minute! We played a similar stage at Isle of Wight and it was amazing. Live is where I’m in my element so I can’t wait. But it’s such a long day to get to that half on hour on stage.

You’re just about to take to the stage, what can we expect from your live performance?

A lot of energy! And a lot of movement! It’s quite raw and exciting, we’re all there to have a good time, so hopefully everybody else will be!

Have you been here before?

Yes, I came a couple of years ago when CSS and Klaxons were on. My mates boyfriend was playing. I love Wireless, it’s such a cool festival.

If you could perform with one other artist on the bill, who would you choose and why?

(At this point Taylor Hawkins sits behind her) Taylor Hawkins as he’s a massive babe, and he’s amazing, and I can’t believe that he’s actually right behind me!

What have you got lined up for the rest of the Summer?

Just a lot of festivals and shows and writing some new stuff. It’s quite refreshing – I love playing live and writing songs so it’s all good. I wanna make sure the album that I put out is amazing!

Check out the brand new video, Rosie here.

We chat with Bluey Robinson!

We meet Britain's new soul superstar

One of the Britain's big soul hopes, former child star Bluey Robinson looks set to launch into the big time with the release of his debut single in September.

We caught up with the singer backstage and asked him a few questions..

For anyone that hasn’t heard of Bluey Robinson, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a 21 year old struggling singer songwriter from South London, and my name is Bluey Robinson!

You're just about to head on stage, what have you got planned for your set

I’m just gonna try and give the crowd an electric show, lots of energy, a lot of fun, a few covers – I just wanna have a good time with my band, so we wanna have fun and make sure the crowd are having fun as well.

Who are you looking forward to seeing

I’m looking forward to seeing quite a few people I’m really looking forward to seeing P!nk – I’ve seen some stuff online, and her show is crazy! I’m really looking forward to seeing I Blame Coco and Daisy Dares You. I think I’m gonna tent hop and check out what’s going on throughout the day.

If you could perform with one other person on the bill who would it be?

It’d have to be P!nk. She’s a star. She’s got a lot of energy, she’s edgy and she always seems like she wants to have a good time performing, and she’s just herself.

What have you got planned for the rest of the Summer?

I’m finishing my album, and hopefully bringing out a single in the next few months. I’m gonna be finishing up my recording, and hopefully I’m going to be doing a tour support so keep your ears open for me.

We meet Jay & The Boys!

We have a quick chat with the former Navy man.

Jay Picton was a member of the Royal Navy before he picked up his band 'The Boys' and became the first individual to be granted a sabbatical to pursue music. We caught up with him before his appearance on the Wireless stage...

For those that haven't discovered you, how would you describe yourself to those that haven't discovered you yet?

You haven't discovered me yet! That's five words!

What can we expect from your upcoming set?

Love. Or rage.

Does Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard hold any significance for you?

It's actually my first time at any major UK music festival, but my best mate from the Navy came to Wireless a few years ago to see Mark Ronson, and he came home drunk, predicting I'd be playing Wireless in two years. And here I am!

If you could perform with one other act on the bill, who would you choose and why?

Definitely Beth Ditto from Gossip because she's mental. And The Big Pink as well, just because I like their name!

What have you got planned for the rest of the summer?

I'm just in the middle of negotiating my record deal, but I've got a couple more gigs lined up and then it's straight into the studio to record the album ready for next year. Somewhere amongst that, there'll be sun, beer and hide & seek.

If you want to find out more about Jay and the Boys, check out this handy YouTube clip.
We chat to Plan B backstage at Wireless minutes before his set on the Pepsi Max Stage

Singer / songwriter Ben Drew answers our questions...

London rapper Plan B has gone from up-and-coming underground rapper to soul-singing crossover chart sensations in a matter of months, thanks in part to the release of his stunning second album The Defamation of Strickland Banks. We talk to him backstage at Wireless a few minutes before he’s due to play the Pepsi Max Stage.

Hi Plan B, welcome back to Wireless. You were here first in 2007, right?
Yeah, on some little stage somewhere. [Shouts to his manager] Oi, what stage was I on when I first come here? [Both shake heads at each other]. Yeah, it was some little stage.

And now you’re a huge superstar, and you’ve got the world at your feet!
Yeah, I’ve worked hard. I’ve always done what I wanted to do.

You’ve gone from being an underground LDN rapper to a chart-topping soul singer in a relatively short space of time. How did that happen?
I just felt like I wanted to try soul. Soul wasn’t going to have any problems getting on the radio. So I thought “let’s make an uncompromising soul record”. The subject matter is still pretty dark, but how am I going to create a soul record and prevent it from getting on radio. You just can’t.

Your record is a good amalgamation of rap and soul. Why did you go down that route?
When you sing swear words, it doesn’t sound right. When you rap a swear word, it sounds right. That’s why there was no place for derogatory lyrics within these songs. It’s an album about an innocent man’s struggle in prison, so it was a pretty deep, heartfelt subject matter. Luckily it seems to be getting through to people.

You must be inundated with cool things coming your way these days, right?
I’ve been offered everything I’ve ever wanted at one time, and the hardest thing about that is not having the time to do it all. It’s a good position to be in.

When did you make that decision to go down the soul route for this album, and hat did your label say when you wanted to start releasing soul records?
I was a soul singer first anyway, so I’ve never stopped writing soul songs behind the scene. I was writing songs for my publisher to give to other artists, but there wasn’t anyone out there who we thought could sing the songs as well as me. I just thought if I don’t somehow work these songs in to what I do, no body’s ever going to get to hear them – they’ll just sit on a shelf and rot.

And so the album just grew from that?
I always wanted to do a concept album for my second record, and I didn’t have a story. I had these great soul songs, then the penny dropped and I sold this concept album about a soul singer, and it was born from that. I originally set out to write a hip hop record that had a few soul songs in it, and they just grew and grew. Before I knew it I had a soul album and a hip hop album, based around the same character and the same story.

What’s happened to the hip hop album?
My ambition was to release them at the same time as a double disc, but you’ve got to work with your label and make compromises, so the decision we made was to split the album in to two albums, and in hindsight it’s the best thing we’ve done.

How much input do you have in the album once you’re recorded it?
It’s been so much hard work, making the album work, making what I wear work, the artwork, the ad campaigns – I’m hands on in everything we do, I have approval over everything. If I was trying to do that with two records, it would have killed me. So the soul record is out now, and The Battle of Bellmarsh, the hip hop record, is going to come out after.

Is this one going to be as radio-friendly as the last?
No, that album’s not going to do well commercially. It’s not going to get A-listed, but I do things for artistic reasons.

As you’re so hands on with your work, how do you feel about other bands that don’t have that much control on their careers?
I think they do have that control. I just think they’re lazy. If you want to be like that, cool, but don’t take yourself too seriously. Don’t walk around the backstage area like you’re the f***ing b******ks, or that you’re better than everyone, because you’re not – you can tell by your music. You’re album’s not brilliant, your subject matter isn’t that deep, and you didn’t put that much work in to it. I try to stay grounded, and treat people with respect. I want to stay a normal guy for as long as possible.

You’re a London boy, so you’re very much at home at Wireless. What advice would you give to someone who wants to make it on the Wireless stage?
Just make the music you want to make. You’ve got to make it for yourself and other people. You can’t be introvert, or sing a load of songs using certain metaphors that only you and your band understand. Other people need to understand it. If you follow your heart, and sing about real deep, personal things, people will pick up on that and love that. Once you do that, everything else falls in to place. Radios start to notice, festivals start to notice.

That’s what you did, and obviously it’s worked out well...
When I made my first album, like I said, I was on this really small stage at Wireless. I played to about 15 people and it was f*****g hard. But a year later I was on the Main Stage, with the same album.

What do you like about playing Wireless?
It’s great to be in a festival in London. I can wake up, have a shower, get in a taxi and be in Hype Park within 45 minutes.

So you wake up in your own bed this morning?
I did, for the first time in ages.

And will you wake up in your own bed tomorrow morning?!
I will – I’ve got an early start tomorrow, because we’re going to, ummm. F***, I don’t know. We’re going to a festival tomorrow. We’re going to T4 on Sunday, I know that. I can’t remember what we’re doing tomorrow, haha...

We talk to Alan Pownall backstage at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard ahead of his opening set on The Third Stage

The indie trobadour drops by for a chat...

We caught up with the indie troubadour ahead of his set at Wireless...

Hi Alan, welcome to Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard!
Good to be here.

Is this your first time playing a festival in Hyde Park?
No actually, I played here at Hard Rock Calling last year. My experience of Wireless has been a little bit limited, but it’s great being here today.

The Hard Rock Calling crowd are slightly older and rockier – do you change your set for Wireless at all to try and appeal to a different audience?
Yeah, you’ve got to try and do that, haven’t you? You can’t really tailor a gig to a fesitval espeically because it’s always going to be quite ecclectic. You’ve just got to do your thing really.

You’re used to playing smaller shows in more intimite venues than Hyde Park? What’s different about your set today than a normal performance for you?
You’ve got to keep it a little bit more up-tempo I suppose. No one wants to sit down and crouch on the floor with their beer. We’re playing in the daytime as well, so you’ve got to keep it lively.

You’re from Richmond Alan, so you’re a London boy. Did you ever follow this festival since it first started 5 years ago?
No, I always heard it was going on, but tickets are always quite hard to get hold of, aren’t they?

Not if you know the right people!
Well now I know the right people, haha...

You did a co-headline tour with Lissie this year. It’s going quite well for you in 2010, right?
Yes, it is! I also supported Angus and Julia Stone at the beginning of the year. It’s been quite busy.

What have you got lined up for the rest of 2010?
Just a few festivals, and I’m going on tour after the summer. I’m also releasing an album, which I’m working on.

Cool. How’s it sounding?
It sounds amazing. It’s the best thing I’ve ever heard.

Looking forward to hearing it! Back to the festival – if you could play with any band on the Wireless line up today, who would it be?
I think Plan B. He’s a completely different artist to me, but I like what he’s doing. He’s so multi-talented, he seems to be able to do a bit of everything, and I quite like that. It’s nice to see a British artist from London doing that. It’s fresh, new, good live, and it seems to tick a lot of boxes.

Are there any other bands or artists you want to see today?
I’d be interested to see what Taylor Hawkins is up to.

And what are your plans after your gig at Wireless today?
I’m going to Hop Farm, which is in Kent, I think. There’s a festival up there, which I’m looking forward to. Van Morrison’s playing tonight

Nice. Will you be taking the private Alan Pownall Helicopter there?!
No. It’s a private jet.

Lovely! Good luck for today Alan, thanks for your time.
And thanks for yours.

Alphabeat unable to play Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard due to illness.

Danish popstars pull out of Friday's proceedings.

We're sad to announce that everyone's favourite Danish popstars, Alphabeat, have had to pull out of Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard tomorrow evening due to illness in the band.

The band have issued a statement for everyone planning to catch them:

As you may have heard (read on Twitter) Anders SG began to struggle with some throat problems a few days ago and it hasn't become better. He has lost his voice and is ill. Therefore, we're very sorry and sad to announce that we have to cancel Wireless this weekend ...

We hope he'll get well soon so that we can get back on tour and play for all you guys again.

Stay fresh and enjoy the Summer out there!”
Drake pulls out of Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard

Rap newcomer is forced to pull out of the event for personal reasons.

We're disappointed to announce that Drake, one of the artists on Sunday July 4, has had to pull out of the event, due to reasons outside of his control.

The rap newcomer has had to cancel many of his European dates, and is unfortunately unable to be in the UK over Wireless weekend.

The show must go on however, and with over 50,000 tickets sold and an unbeatable line up including the one and only JAY-Z, his protege J.Cole, pop princess Lily Allen, D12, and a plethora of homegrown urban talent including recent chart toppers Tinie Tempah, Roll Deep and Chipmunk, the event promises to be one not to be missed!
Sunday's stellar line up gets even better with Us rapper J Cole, drum and bass superstar DJ Blame, new teen hip hop sensation Fugative, US duo The Knux , grime MC Devlin, electro rocker Hesta Prynn and Saturday's Pretty Lights making a second appearance.
Less than a month after winning the BRIT award for Best British Female, Lily Allen bid a fond farewell to the pop scene with a triumphant gig at The O2 Arena in London on Sunday.

Since announcing her ‘retirement’ from music, the Smile songstress has agreed to support Jay Z at Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard. But this, a co-headline show with Dizzee Rascal, was her last indoor date before commencing her self imposed withdrawal from the music industry. Lily recently clarified her plans as ‘retiring from writing, recording and touring under the name “Lily Allen”’.

With Sunday at Wireless already looking like such a momentous occasion, we’re already confident we’ll be at the front blubbing into our hankies come the end of her set!

Accept no imitations – beware a fake website selling Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard tickets

Don’t let fraudsters steal your hard-earned cash

London’s Metropolitan Police have been in touch with us here at Wireless HQ, and have asked us to warn you good people about a fraudulent website that has one purpose – to steal your hard earned cash.

The website www.hydeparkconcerts.com is a particularly convincing example of a website that appears to be a perfectly authorized source to buy tickets to Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard and other events taking place in Hyde Park this summer.

However, this website is run by fraudsters who will take your cash but won't provide you with tickets to ANY of the festivals and events taking place in Hyde Park.

WWW.HYDEPARKCONCERTS.COM IS A FRAUDULENT WEBSITE – DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS FROM HERE.

If you have been unlucky enough to be tricked by this website and have sent them an order for tickets, the best thing to do is check to see if they have charged your bank account yet, and cancel any transaction with them that is waiting to go through.

If you have given them your money, the best advice we can offer is that you contact the Met Police and report the crime.

If you’re planning on buying tickets to this year’s Wireless, the best place for you to get them from is the Tickets page on this very website, which guarantees the ticket you purchase online will be valid.

If you choose to purchase from other sources, here are some tips to remember when buying…

• If you buy tickets through an online auction, choose a seller with a long, continuous history of satisfied customers. Scammers can hijack old accounts, so make sure they have recently bought or sold other items.

• When buying from an individual through an online exchange don't be lured away from the website by the seller. Even if you met the seller on the exchange website, the company may not guarantee any lost money if a transaction occurs outside their domain.

• Never pay with a cashier's check or wire money to a seller. Instead, use a credit card or PayPal, which offer some protection and potential reimbursement.

• Scrutinize photos of the tickets closely for any inaccuracies or alterations.

• Don’t buy from ticket touts- the tickets they sell may be stolen or counterfeit.

JAY-Z scoops award for Best International Solo Male at 30th Annual Brit Awards

The Jigga man also put on the performance of the evening – watch the video now!

JAY-Z was in London Town last night (Tuesday) for the 30th Annual Brit Awards, which once again took place at Earls Court in SW5.

The Jigga man was nominated in the category for Best International Male, which saw him up against heavyweight contenders including Bruce Springsteen and Michael Buble.

The good news is that this year’s Wireless headliner won the award, most deservingly in our eyes – with two huge performances in London last year and one of 2009’s greatest albums in the form of The Blueprint 3, there really could be no other winner.

Accepting the award, JAY-Z was clearly in excellent spirits, thanking the Spice Girls “because they inspired me!”

Later that night he took to the stage to perform his incredible track Empire State of Mind with Alicia Keys and a full backing band, which was undoubtedly the performance of the evening.

Congratulations to JAY-Z! Watch a video of his fantastic performance from last night now...

The Ting Tings dismiss Jay Z speculation

The Brit duo reveal more details about their forthcoming album....

Brit duo The Ting Tings have revealed more details about their forthcoming album Kunst.

The act, who will be showcasing new material at this year’s Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard, have confirmed that the new material will be synth-heavy - "We listened back to some of the demos and we thought, hold on a minute, this is sounding too much like we're rocking out live. We bought a couple of old weird synths in New York and smuggled them in our suitcases back to Berlin and they started to come strong on the music" explained multi instrumentalist Jules De Martino.

Speaking to contactmusic.com, the group also rubbished reports that they’d been working with new label boss Jay Z – insisting that they’re producing the album instead "We're recording it ourselves at the moment. We're seven tracks in and we haven't needed anyone yet.”

Lead singer Katie White did however hint at one possible collaboration - "There is a band called the Tom Tom Club that we love and we already spoke with them. We know them now and we might do a collaboration."
Teaming up with over 80 artists, the track was again masterminded by Lionel Richie, and features artists including Justin Bieber, Jordin Sparks, Black Eyed Peas, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Kanye West, and Josh Groban.

In other news Glitter In The Air, the track that P!nk performed at the Grammy Awards has launched itself into the US itunes top 10, as has its parent album, Funhouse!
P!nk steals the show at the Grammy Awards!

Feisty rocker P!nk wows the Grammy Award audience.

She may have went home empty handed (boooo!), but Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard headliner P!nk stole the show at the Grammy Awards this weekend with an eye popping rendition of Glitter In The Air.

The feisty rocker wowed the crowd, stripping to a flesh coloured bodystocking adorned with jewels before performing the majority of the song suspended in mid air. A number of death defying stunts, and Cirque Du Soleil style acrobatics followed - she obviously has a head for heights!

So, the big question is – what will she wear for her Hyde Park appearance?? And can we expect a similar show stopping performance?? We can’t wait to find out…

Dance floor revellers Gossip add some punk to this year's Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard

Effervescent noise-mongers are the latest band confirmed on the Wireless bill

With all this cold weather beginning to thaw, there ain’t nothing standing in the way of us announcing our latest addition to the Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard line-up.

We’re thrilled to reveal that those effervescent noise-mongers Gossip are the latest band confirmed on the Wireless bill, taking to the Hyde Park stage on Friday July 2nd.

The alluring American trio, fronted by the iconic Beth Ditto, will be blaring out tracks from their catalogue of albums, including last year’s Music For Men and the critically acclaimed Standing In the Way of Control.

That means that so far we’ve announced Gossip, The Ting Tings, and a headline performance that we’re already buzzing about seeing, with pop-princess P!nk headlining the opening night of the Festival.

As well as this, we’ve got a bunch of other exciting announcements coming soon, so keep your eyes firmly peeled on our Facebook Page and our Twitter to make sure you never miss a beat.

It's all rather exciting, don't you think?

The Ting Tings added to the Wireless line-up

Fresh from supporting P!nk on her first US headline tour, festival favourites The Ting Tings will be hitting the Wireless stage on Friday 2 July.

Fresh from supporting Wireless sponsored by Barclaycard headliner P!nk on her first US headline tour, festival favourites The Ting Tings will be hitting the Wireless stage on Friday 2 July.

The Pop Rock duo are sure to bring an electric performance to Hyde Park having declared their name in music, as the pleasingly popular second single That’s Not My Name sold over one million digital copies world wide.

Kanye West closes Wireless 2009 with a spectacular performance

Sets from Mr Hudson, Q-Tip, Example and more conclude our best ever Hyde Park event…

As the sun was thinking about setting on London town, we made our way over to the Tuborg stage where we caught performances from two must-see acts – London’s very own Mr Hudson, and the energetic Example, who could have easily played a much larger crowd in Hyde Park tonight.

But the hour was fast approaching for a set from the man we were all here to see. Kanye West played to a sold out crowd tonight, delivering one of the most comprehensive sets we’ve seen all weekend.

The stage was dramatically set up, with an elaborate elevated platform for the showman to perform on. Kicking off with Coldest Winter (a contrary song choice considering the incredible British weather we had today), Kanye belted out hit after hit as Flashing Lights seemingly melted into Coming Home Again.

Touch The Sky encouraged a mass hands-in-the-air moment, and the momentous Through the Wire saw 30,000 people simultaneously swaying their hands to the music.

Following a slew of hits, Kanye paused to show his gratitude to the crowd for making the effort to come and see him this evening. “I wanna thank y’all for making my dreams come true,” said the superstar, full of sincerity. “Without you, there is no me.”

This poignant interlude was followed by an epic rendition of the track Robocop, before Kanye, surrounded by four scantily clad, gold-painted dancers broke in to Say You Will. “That’s my favourite song on the album,” claimed the rapper. “Well, they’re all my favourite songs,” he joked.

The set also included iconic performances of Diamonds, Jesus Walks, Gold Digger, American Boy, and a stripped down version of Heartbreak 808, which featured a simple piano accompaniment, and Kanye’s phenomenal vocals.

The incredible set was enjoyed by a packed out Wireless crowd, and celebrities including James Corden and Keisha from the Sugababes were spotted enjoying the genius hard at work.

A scream that would have been audible all over London erupted when the now iconic sounds of Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger were played, with the American closing with perhaps his most famous track Stronger.

Kanye was amazing tonight, and was the perfect performer to close what has been our best Wireless ever. The show was full of glamour, excitement and tenacity, which we think is a great microcosm for what has been a brilliant weekend.

Hope y’all had a good time. See you next year.
Calvin Harris, N-Dubz and Diversity keep us busy at Wireless 2009

Sunday is shaping up to be even more intense than yesterday in London's back garden

The Wireless audience have been on fire today (not literally, you understand – it’s a figure of speech), and one band you could tell they were all longing to see was N-Dubz. With a mighty roar from the crowd, their set kicked off with an awesome drum solo as Dappy, Tulisa and Fazer induced a deafening scream, kicking off with I Swear.

Everyone watching was in good voice, and Dappy got the entire Wireless crowd chanting the chorus to Ouch back at the Camden trio. Following an incredibly swift costume change backstage, the band broke in to Strong Again, Wouldn’t You and Better Not Waste My Time. Today, N-Dubz confirmed that they truly are masters of controlling a sold out crowd – they were amazing.

All this chaos was followed by what would turn out to be a legendary set from Scottish dance producer Calvin Harris, who owned the stage with his catalogue of hits. Starting out with Merrymaking At My Place, which was followed by awesome lesser-known track Colours, the crowd were loving Calvin, not least when he managed to get 20,000 people jumping up and down to a fantastically bass-y rendition of Acceptable In The 80’s.

With the sun pounding down on Hyde Park, there was a Balearic vibe in the air, and when he played Not Alone, Calvin confirmed, as if there was any doubt, that he really is a force to be reckoned with on the dance scene.

We were also lucky enough to see Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity, who would be playing their biggest gig since winning the show to the Wireless hoard. With the stage stripped of mic stands, drum kits and everything else, the troupe backflipped and summersaulted on to the stage, before being greeted by Kiss FM DJs and Wireless MCs Ricky and Melvin, who interviewed leader Ashley in front of everybody before the performance.

Ashely told us that they had been touring pretty much none stop since winning BGT, and that they had all arrived at Hyde Park in a helicopter. They did an extended version of the set that won them the show, which was followed by rapturous allplause and cries for more.

Meanwhile, the backstage area was a hive of activity, and before we knew what was happening we found ourselves rubbing shoulders with the stars, who were out in full force. Mark Ronson was spotted chatting to Jack Penate, two thirds of the Sugababes (Heidi must’ve been elsewhere) where wandering around with Alesha Dixon, and we were lucky enough to catch up with Noisettes, Flo Rida and Mr Hudson.

We’re off to chill out with a few more A-listers, and are finding it hard to believe that we’re only a few hours away from seeing Kanye West’s headline performance. It’s gonna be huge.

Day Two at Wireless 2009 has officially begun

Sets from Noisettes, Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah, Ratatat and more get the crowds jumping

Sunday at Wireless started early this afternoon, with the carnival atmosphere in Hyde Park from last night still very much alive and well.

South London’s very own grime superstar Tinie Tempah kicked off the proceedings on the Main Stage, playing to an already bustling crowd who had got to Wireless nice and early. As well as dropping in a bunch of crowd-pleasers, the 19 year old boi-wonder made a brief nod to the late great Michael Jackson, with the Billie Jean bass-line thrown in on closing track Hood Economics, much to the delight of the audience.

Next up, Noisettes took to the stage, injecting the Wireless masses with their inescapable chart-topping tunes. Singer Shengai looked amazing in a tight white dress, and the band quickly broke into Wild Young Hearts, before rocking out to the incredible Don’t Upset The Rhythm.

“It’s an absolute treasure to be out performing to you today,” she told the fans. “I’ve been looking forward to this gig.”

As the sound of Chipmunk’s DJ was detected on the Second Stage, the fans came running in from the bright July sunshine. The big top filled up in no time and it was the turn of the 19 year old London boy to command his followers. With virtually every pair of hands in the air, a raft of promo CDs were thrown into the audience before the star lunched into the number one smash hit Tiny Dancer.

He also treated fans to an airing of his new single Diamond Rings – if it does well in the charts, he may even be lucky enough to buy a few himself – it’s out in the shops tomorrow!

We then headed over to the Tuborg Stage where Ratatat were striking up a moody set complete with sinister samples, freaked out guitar noise all set to a lazy trip-hop beat. The darkness gave way to a dub bassline and a squealing effect-drenched guitar which provided what has to be the most interesting incarnation of dance music we’ve heard in a while. Their performance took us on a journey of electronic music from The Prodigy through Air by way of Daft Punk – a real treat!

Basement Jaxx close an unforgettable party in the park

Headline set from the carnival masters sets the Wireless crowds into a frenzy

Finally, the time had come for the headline act that everybody was waiting for. Following an operatic introduction, Basement Jaxx stormed onto the stage with the same energy and vigour that we witnessed four years ago at the very first Wireless Festival in 2005.

Felix was the epitome of cool, strolling onto the stage shouting “How ya doin’ London” before the band broke into a storming rendition of Good Luck.

Oh My Gosh was delivered with a gritty rock edge offset by infectious Latin grooves and a bonkers bongo backbeat. Jus’ One Kiss was performed true to the original recording with some additional guitar work making it sound even livelier – as if it needed to be!

A flurry of hits ensued including Red Alert, Do Your Thing, new single Raindrops and Agro, followed by a stripped back acoustic version of Romeo. Simon played a simple guitar accompaniment as a backdrop to Kele Le Roc’s ever impressive vocals, a truly sublime moment of calm in an otherwise pounding set.

As the sun set over Hyde Park we were also privy to a first airing of future Jaxx classic She’s No Good. “You just heard that for the first time” announced Felix at the song’s conclusion – and we’re pretty sure it won’t be the last; it had No.1 written all over it.

Tonight we were treated to our own West End Musical with a full light and laser show including stunning visuals played on their own colossal plasma screen. The band covered every genre from rock to ragga and shifted from one musical style to the next with consummate professionalism and the look of a tight knit band who were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

And so, as the first epic day of Wireless 2009 comes to a close, we know that when the sun rises in the morning we’ll be doing it all again. Tomorrow sees none other than international sensation Kanye West headlining the Main Stage with a supporting cast of the finest acts from the world of urban music who will once again turn Hyde Park into the ultimate party venue. It’gonna be a large one – bring it on.

The Streets and Dizzee set the crowd in a spin at Wireless

Legendary performances from Birmingham and London's finest keep the party going

As the music played on in London’s back garden, you could feel the excitement as hundreds of fans flocked towards the second stage to witness what would turn out to be a legendary performance from The Streets. With the vivacious crowd creating an enormous noise in anticipation of Birmingham’s finest, the hoard went wild when Mike Skinner et al burst on to the stage with a deafening version of Let's Push Things Forward.

Skinner was a master on the mic, and between him and Leo the Lion, The Streets controlled the delighted crowd with renditions of Has It Come To This, Could Well Be In, Everything Is Borrowed and bringing things down a notch with a emotional version of Never Went To Church.

It was an epic set, lasting over and hour and included classic hits from all four albums. “Put your hands in the air if you’re still alive out there” demanded Mike at one point, which encouraged a mighty roar from the crowd.

All this pandemonium was followed by a no-less chaotic performance from Dizzee Rascal over on the Main Stage. The London-boi-done-good came on to stage to greet his home crowd, and was rewarded with a mind-blowing scream from the audience. He started with a cover of the Ting Tings’ That’s Not My Name (which featured a great Dizzee twist on the chorus with the line “They call me blud, they call me rooode boy!”), before breaking in to a storming performance of He’s Just a Rascal.

Playing “some of that new s**t” from his latest album including Road Rage and Dirty Cash, Dizzee was on fire. Dropping in blasts of Sound of da Police and Jump before sending everyone crazy with Fix Up Look Sharp, you could tell he was having a good time.

The set ended with a stonking rendition of Bonkers, which induced mass fist pumping and ground shaking. Dizzee was legendary tonight, and London loved him.

The music plays on as the sun shines down on London Town

Jack Penate, Digitalism, St Ettienna and loads more keep the party going in Hyde Park

And so the fun in the sun and live music continued in Hyde Park, with the balmy weather and incredible summer atmosphere welcome additions to what is already turning out to be our best Wireless ever.

At a more salubrious pace, Danish minimalists Chimes and Bells charmed the Bella Union Stage with gorgeous sun kissed songs. The set was well received as the band ended with a rousing rendition of their single Do The Right.

Meanwhile, London stalwarts St Etienne graced the Main Stage as the afternoon temperatures soared. Fox Base Alpha signs were clearly visible in the adoring crowd as the band launched into a fan-pleasing set laced with chilled summer beats. Bob Stanley and Sarah Cracknell’s finale of He’s On The Phone really served to get the crowd moving.

Oblivious to this were the crowd who had gathered at the second stage for what proved to be a stonking set from German dance-punk duo Digitalism. The guys emerged to hysterical cheers from the already hyped crowd, coming out to the euphoric Idealistic, before hammering out most of the choons from their awesome debut album.

Tommy Sparks lifted the roof off the Tuborg stage with a great rendition of the Stardust classic Music Sounds Better With You and closing his set with the one the crowd were all waiting for She’s Got Me Dancing - and yes, he managed to get us all dancing too!

Over on the Main Stage, it was the turn of chart-topping man-of-the-moment Jack Peñate to entertain his mass of assembled fans. After a quick round of the ‘crowd-division-noise-making’ competition from our resident compares Ricky and Melvin, the atmosphere was more Carnival than stroll in the Park as Jack ripped into songs off his new album in addition to some old favourites.

I’m So Near and Everything is New were conducted with the famous Peñate swagger whilst We all Spit At Stars and Torn On The Platform delighted fans with the stunning accompaniment of a small brass section. ‘Cor it’s hot out here’ quipped Jack as he continued his tirade of hits, he even managed to live up to the old Rock ‘n’ Roll cliché of smashing his guitar at the end of Give Yourself Away – ‘excuse me, it all got a bit too much’ he said afterwards.

No problem Jack - embrace your inner rock self!

Wireless 2009 kicks of in style

Sets from Oakenfold, Phenominal Handclap Band and Filthy Dukes confirm that the weekend has officially landed

It’s just gone 4pm on Saturday afternoon, and it’s official – the weekend has very much landed. The sun is shining, fists are pumping and the ground is shaking. Wireless 2009 has kicked off in incredible style.

It all started on the Main Stage early this afternoon, when the delightful Phenomenal Handclap Band played to the Wireless crowds, delivering their feel-good disco sound, and foot-tapping, hand-clapping tunes to those who had got themselves down to Hyde Park bright and early. They played hit tracks including You’ll Disappear and the sing-along anthem All Of The Above, which had a joyous 70’s vibe, held together with incredible vocals. It’s fair to say that what this band don’t know about 5-part harmonies ain’t worth knowing.

Earlier we bumped into the effortlessly cool Paul Oakenfold a few minutes before he was due to play his epic 80 minute-long DJ set over and the second stage, who told us that he was glad to be back in the UK for a few days (Paul lives in Miami these days, don’t cha know?).

“I hope to see a few family and friends over the next couple of days” said Paul, before telling us about what an incredible year 2009 is turning in to for him. “My highlight so far has been touring with Madonna, and working with Jerry Bruckheimer on his new film”. What a name dropper! Well, when you’re the godfather of dance music, you probably end up rubbing shoulders with a few A listers, right?

When he took to the 2nd stage, the crowd went absolutely ballistic from the very first beat. In a rammed tent, Oakenfold was on complete fire laying down a tenacious beat and slyly mixing in samples from the likes of Universally Speaking, Mr Brightside and Sex On Fire. When he played a pulse-racing version of Satisfaction everyone went crazy, and a quick spin of Josh Wink’s A Higher State of Consciousness was simply off the hook.

Surrounded by various bits of equipment that included decks, effects machines and a couple of synths, Paul was a maestro in the mix. A screen behind him flashed images of girls, the Hollywood Hills and LA skyline, with a huge, ubiquitous Perfecto badge revolving in the background.

The Ibiza spirit had truly come to London Town, and as far as we were all concerned it was 3am in Manumission, not late afternoon in the Capital.

We dragged ourselves away from the chaos of the Second Stage, where we discovered that Oakenfold had managed to establish a one-in-one out policy, with hundreds of fans desperate to get in to see the superstar DJ at work. Wandering over to the Main Stage, we caught the end of Filthy Dukes’ set, who were entertaining everybody with their sound that is a delicious clash of New Order meets Digitalism. “Feel free to come and dance” encouraged lead singer Tim – before getting everyone going with a great rendition of crowd-pleaser This Rhythm.

Next, we headed on down to the Tuborg Stage, where we were lucky enough to catch a bit of Black and White Years, who were busy rocking the tent with tracks including You Are a Dragon and A Wetter Sea. Their unique blend of electro-dance rock was fantastic, and though it wasn’t quite as chaotic as the mayhem going down over with Oakenfold, they pumped out a superb summer sound that got everyone in the mood for more.

Coming up, we’re looking forward to seeing The Streets, Afrika Bambaataa , and of course the sublime Dizzee Rascal. Obviously tonight’s headline set from Basement Jaxx is going to be rather special, if seeing them play this exact stage 4 years ago is anything to go by. We can’t wait.
